Somehow conference time is here and the Pleasantville boys’ and girls’ track teams will make the long haul to Bedford for the Pride of Iowa Conference meet today.

The Trojan boys were last in action Thursday when they placed eighth at PCM without their Drake Relay qualifiers. Many conference titles are a possibility for the Trojans, as they currently have seven events that are conference bests. The sprint-heavy Trojans lead the 4x100m, 4x200m, and 4x400m relay teams. Individuals leading the conference include Hunter Tyree in 100m, Gauge Van Haalen in the 110m hurdles, and Chaz Clark in both the shot put and discus. Head Coach Dillon Daniel tells KNIA/KRLS Sports he thinks they can compete for a conference title and it is a puzzle in finding out what individuals fit best in each event.

The girls’ team was last in action Thursday placing fifth at West Marshall. Kasey Pelzer eyes a conference title, as she has recorded the best time in the 100m dash. The 4×100, 4×200, and Kylee Van Haalen-Brown in the discus will be in the hunt, as they stand at second in the conference.

The action gets started at 4 p.m. today at Bedford High School.
