When someone calls 911 at two in the morning, the Pella Police Department wants to remind the community there will always be help on the other end of the line.

As part of National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, Pella is highlighting the overnight staff who helps whenever an emergency happens. Heather Malone has served on the midnight shift for nearly four years, and tells KNIA/KRLS News that anyone should be willing to come to the department for help at any hour. Hannah Ridgway has been with the department for over two years, and says the most rewarding aspect of the job is to serve the public and help those in need on what is most likely the worst day of their lives.
