The City of Knoxville has received a grant worth $100,000 towards the improvement of Young’s Park from Wellmark.

Knoxville City Manager Aaron Adams tells KNIA/KRLS News the grant is a match grant, where the grant has to be matched by the city in order to receive it. Adams said that the requirements of the grant only allows the city to provide half of the match, which means the other half has to come from the public, whether it be from an in-kind donation of work done at the park or monetary. All donations towards the grant are tax deductible. The city has received grants from Wellmark before to help develop hiking trails. The deadline to match the grant is August 24th.
