Pella Christian could not find the back of the net as their season ended in a 1-0 loss at Bondurant-Farrar Tuesday night.

The No. 13 ranked Eagles girls found themselves in the only state regional featuring two ranked teams against the No. 12 Lady Jays.

Pella Christian found themselves in a 1-0 goal disadvantage when in the 20th minute of the game the PC Eagles were called for a handball just outside the 18 yard penalty box. Statewide scoring leader Emma DeCosta was given a direct kick and laced a low lining shot just past PC’s wall and keeper Bekah Horstman.

Head Coach Mike Buchheit says the team took a stronger offensive position in the second half and just couldn’t piece together a goal despite several really good looks. The Eagles bested last year’s season record for goals allowed by only giving up 16 the entire season. Pella Christian finishes 8-8 and says farewell to five seniors.
