The Knoxville Fire Department is celebrating EMS week by hosting a pancake breakfast Saturday.

Knoxville Fire Department Chief Jim Mitchell tells KNIA/KRLS News the two main benefits of the pancake breakfast are to honor the EMS workers who save lives everyday in Knoxville and Marion County, and to help fundraise for the department as they have some needs. Chief Mitchell also said that the department is looking to purchase a UTV, which will help with fires in the rural area of the town that are hard to get to with normal trucks. Everyone is welcome to attend, with free will donations accepted. The breakfast runs from 7-10am at the Knoxville Fire Department, located at 308 S 3rd St.
