Knoxville Girls Tennis Falls To Newton In First Round Of Team Regionals

The Knoxville Girls Tennis team season has come to an end. The Panthers fell to Newton is the first round of the team regionals on Saturday in Norwalk 5-2. Alex Griggs and Hannah Short were victorious for Knoxville. Coach Nick DeMoss told KNIA/KRLS Sports he was very impressed with Alyssa Vaske’s play and stepping up in a position she was not planning on a week ago. The Panthers season is not totally complete, they will head to the individual regionals on Wednesday which takes place in Pella.

Hannah Short vs Kinsey Lorre 6-3, 6-3
Anna Sanderson vs Emily Vaultman 0-6, 0-6
Carly Still vs Natalie Camp 2-6, 2-6
Isabella Ippolito vs Harlow Durr 3-6, 3-6
Alyssa Vaske vs Alexis Hoffman 4-6, 2-6

Griggs/Short vs 1/2 – 6-2, 4-1 (stopped due to #2 doubles loss)
Sanderson/Ippolito vs 3/4 – 2-6, 1-6
Still/ Vaske vs 5/6 – 4-4. (Stopped due to #2 doubles losing)
