Both the Pella and Knoxville tennis teams are moving onto Substate after competing in Grinnell for district action Wednesday.

Pella scored the most team points at 20 to claim the team District Championship banner, closely followed by Knoxville’s 19. Ben Wallace and RJ Roberts of Knoxville won the doubles district championship, which means they are advancing to state. Pella’s Jordan Roozeboom and the pair of Colton Edwards and Carter Briggs both placed runner up in each bracket and are also advancing.

The Panthers play in the Preliminary Substate Round this Saturday, with Knoxville hosting the Comets of North Polk, with the winner traveling to Pella High School to take on the Dutch–who earned a bye, Maharshi, and the winner of Fort Madison/Mt. Pleasant in the Substate Finals May 19th.
