A Leon Man faces multiple felony charges connected to an incident last September.

Joshua Lee Fickes, 30, was charged with burglary in the second degree, theft in the first degree, and criminal mischief in the second degree, all class C felonies, trafficking in stolen weapons, a class D felony, and possession of burglar’s tools. According to court records, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary in Knoxville in September of 2017, where it was reported that jewelry, clothing, and firearms among other items were taken from a home. On April 28th, a grass fire was reported in Decatur County at a residence that Fickes had access too, and responding officers from the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office discovered multiple items from the Knoxville burglary after clearing brush and debris out of the way of the flames. After detaining Fickes, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office obtained a warrant to search Fickes’ home and vehicle, where more of the stolen items were found. Fickes was booked into the Marion County Jail on a $37,000 bond.
