It is survive and advance time for all high school golf teams and the PCM girls were able to do just that, placing second out of eight teams at the first round of regionals in Pleasantville.

The Mustangs shot a 409 in the 18-hole meet; five shots better than third place Colfax-Mingo. Van Meter won the event with 349 strokes. Sabrina Reed cracked the top five placing fifth with an 86. Madeline Mitchell was sixth overall with a 97, Allison Wood had a 116, and Mack Bussan rounded out the scoring with a 110. Brooke Dross and Gabbi Van Baale had non-counting scores of 118 and 132, respectively.

Pleasantville finished seventh with 464. Tess Ray was one stroke away from cracking the top eight and moving on, shooting a 102 placing ninth. Other Trojan scoring was Breanna Benge with 115, Jamison Ceradsky with 121, and Abby DeJoode with 126. Grace Stephens had a non-counting score of 138.

PCM moves onto the regional final Monday in Oskaloosa.
