The Pella Lady Dutch are returning to the Class 1A girls state tennis tournament after soundly defeating conference foe Norwalk 5-0 Saturday afternoon.

Pella swept the 3rd round of the regional bracket against the Warriors on their home course. The Lady Dutch have qualified for the final eight for two consecutive years. They play Fairfield in the Team State Quarterfinals on Monday in Oskaloosa.

Pella’s boys also qualified for the state quarterfinals this weekend, defeating Mt. Pleasant in the substate final in a 5-0 sweep of the Panthers. The Little Dutch team season ended in the round of eight later in the day, falling to Maharishi of Fairfield by a score of 5-3. Pella will send Jordan Roozeboom and the doubles pair of Colton Edwards and Carter Briggs to the individual 1A state tournament May 25th and 26th in Waterloo.

Pella Christian fell in the class 1A girls regional finals to Shenandoh 5-3 in Osceola, ending the Eagles season.
