Pella’s Emily Vos wins the 200 meter dash individual championship

The Pella Lady Dutch claimed their first-ever team championship in Class 3A on the third and final day of the Iowa High School State Track and Field meet.

Senior Emily Vos won a state championship in the 200 meter dash, with teammate Annika Pingel finishing 3rd to net the Lady Dutch 16 points.

Pella’s girls weren’t the only local athletes to win gold: Noah Anderson of PCM was the fastest boy in Class 2A in the 200 meter dash, and Avery Van Zee of the Pella boys was an individual champion Friday in the 400 meter hurdles. Athletes from Pella, Pella Christian, Knoxville, PCM, Pleasantville, Twin Cedars, and Melcher-Dallas all competed at state track this year as well.
