Seventh graders at Pella Middle School made a significant impact in their community and around the globe as part of their social studies class.

This year, students raised over $4000 for their grade, as well as non-profit organizations and causes as part of a program by developing and operating a concession stand throughout the academic year. The project starts with a loan from Community First Credit Union, and features students raising money throughout the school year. At a ceremony Friday, seventh graders presented checks to the leaders of causes they chose as a group to help benefit.

To date, Pella Middle School seventh grade students have raised over $20,000 for over two dozen non-profit organizations.
