Earlier this morning, at the invitation of Pella Community High School and Pella Middle School, the Pella Police Department organized and directed police K9 searches of lockers and public areas at the schools.

Pella Police Department staff was supported in this effort by K9 teams from the Iowa State Patrol and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. The searches were conducted during normal school hours with the focus of the event being the detection of illegal drugs on the public school campuses. Administrators from Pella Community Schools assisted in the organization and execution of the event. No arrests were made and no contraband drugs were located.
