Volunteers can help pack and distribute summer lunches
for Second Reformed Church

Second Reformed Church is once again helping fight childhood hunger with the return of the summer lunch program.

Pastor Sophie Matthonet Vander-Well tells KNIA/KRLS News they are serving lunches daily to any children who need a meal Mondays through Fridays from 12 to 12:30 p.m. beginning June 4th. Lori Ellingson with the church says they serve an average of 50 meals per daily, with the goal of making sure every kid can have a lunch. In addition to the meals, the Pella Public Library is offering literacy enrichment activities on Tuesdays and Thursdays and Families First of Pella will also engage students throughout the summer.

New this year, they will be giving lunches at the church as well as the previous location by the Burbank Apartments near Pella High School.
