The annual Ag in the City celebration returns to the next Thursdays in Pella event.

Mary Van Zante with Marion County Farm Bureau tells KNIA/KRLS News the annual tradition highlights the impact agriculture has on the community, Marion County, Iowa, and the United States, and features several aspects of the industry. Van Zante says there will be a wide range of activities, entertainment on the Tulip Toren, food, displays, and more centering around agriculture.

There are two contests for residents to walk up and participate in near the Farm Bureau tent from 5:30 to 6:30 that evening, including the tallest corn stalk contest and wheels in bloom. The streets in downtown Pella will close beginning at 3 p.m. Thursday.

The KNIA/KRLS Lil’ Big Red Radio is broadcasting from every Thursdays in Pella this summer.
