A Cedar Rapids man has pled guilty to his role in a burglary in Pella.

Billy Hanover, 55, of Cedar Rapids was sentenced to five years of prison after pleading guilty to 3rd degree burglary and possession of burglar’s tools. According to court records, last November, Pella officers responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle in the 900 block of Washington Street.

The caller related that a suspicious man was seen prowling in the area. Officers responded and performed checks of area businesses. While officers were examining the exterior of a business, a man ran from behind the building. After a brief pursuit officers apprehended the man and identified him as Hanover. He was ordered to pay restitution to the business he broke into.
