Throwing 16 strikeouts is special. Tossing a no-hitter is even more special. Accomplish both in one game and you have a game that soon won’t be forgotten. That was the case for Pleasantville hurler Colton Major in Monday’s 9-0 win over Twin Cedars.

The senior finished the night with just one walk and despite mowing down 16 batters only threw 91 pitches to stay well below the 110 pitch count limit. Major tells KNIA/KRLS Sports first pitch strikes and not wasting any pitches when ahead in the count was the reason he was able to limit the bullets. Major became the second Trojan pitcher to throw a no-hitter this season, as Kyle Amendt did the same earlier this month. The whole pitching staff has been nothing short of impressive, leading the Pride of Iowa Conference with 184 strikeouts and a minuscule .168 opponent batting average.

Both the baseball and softball teams will get back at it tonight hosting Wayne.
