Postseason accolades have been announced for high school girls soccer by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association. Four girls soccer players from the Tulip City received the highest recognition from the state.

For the 2nd straight year, Grace Held of Pella earned First Team All-State recognition. Held scored 32 goals this year, which was 2nd best in Class 2A.

Pella Defender Josie Lickteig and Goalkeeper Chloe Griffin were selected to the 2nd team All-State list. Griffin had the 3rd best save percentage in 2A (.908), and played the 4th most minutes in the net, while Lickteig scored the 1st key goal on a corner kick in the State Quarterfinals (pictured above) and was part of a defensive unit with Griffin that only allowed 10 goals this season.

Pella Christian’s Anna Van Zee received 2nd team recognition as well. The Eagles’ defender was part of a best-in-school-history defense that only allowed one goal per game.

Pella was 14-3 and finished in the state semifinals for the 7th time in program history, while Pella Christian finished 8-8 and in the regional playoffs.
