The Knoxville Softball Squad split two games in Oskaloosa on Saturday. The Panthers survived a furious comeback attempt by Creston to win 8-7 in extra innings. The Panthers held a 5-0 lead when Creston tied it at five and they went to the International Tie Breaker Rule which put a runner at second base. Maddy Findley got the winning hit as she ripped a bases clearing double to put Knoxville up for good. The game ended when centerfielder Emery Neer gunned down the potential tying run at the plate for the final out. Neer also was good with the bat going 3/4 with three stolen bases, Findley was 4/4 with five R-B-I, and Reilly Finarty had two R-B-I. In the second game, Knoxville played class 4A #3 ranked Carlisle and the Wildcats prevailed 5-0. Jada Agan pitched four plus innings and got a no decision. Knoxville travels to Centerville on Monday.
