The Marion County Community Foundation recently awarded grants to four organizations.

The National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum received a $3,460 grant to install sound focusing speakers in some of the display areas. This will allow for an exhibit’s audio to be heard only in a designated area.

Freedom for Youth Ministries received a grant of $2,500 to aid in setting up a woodworking shop for youth to learn a skilled trade and work with volunteer mentors with the hope of many of the projects being seen and used in the Knoxville area.

Knoxville Fire Department recently received a $2,800 grant to purchase a special type of low pressure nozzle that delivers a large amount of water, which makes it possible for one person to handle a fire hose more safely with less kick back.

The Knoxville Food, Youth Initiative (K-FYI) received a grant for $5,000 to help in expanding the K-FYI program making it possible to purchase more equipment to serve food in more locations in Marion County to youth.

The Marion County Community Foundation’s goal is to coordinate and provide philanthropic support for community betterment projects.
