The new Melcher-Dallas Iowa State Savings Bank was set on its foundation Tuesday.

The previous bank building was damaged in the 2017 Fourth of July fire that destroyed or damaged several buildings on the west side of the square. President of Iowa State Savings Bank Stuart Job tells KNIA/KRLS News that Melcher-Dallas is a big part of their customer base and that he and the bank are proud to have made the commitment to the community, and that the community is happy to see the rebuilding after the fire. Employees Karina Ernst and Beth Caikoski were both happy to see the new location being built

Ernst
“I’m really excited for the community to get back home.”

Caikoski
“Overwhelming, but its good.”

The bank is currently operating out of a temporary location on the south side of the square. The new location will be open no later than July 9th, and include a drive-up banking window and a 24-hour drive-up ATM.
