Melcher-Dallas split a pair of games in the Orient-Macksburg Invitational on Saturday. The Saints had a tough time generating runs in game one falling to Nodaway Valley 12-2. Emilie Krpan lasted four and two-thirds innings in the circle allowing seven hits and seven runs while striking out two and walking one. Kacey Enfield threw one and one-third innings in relief. Lilly Bennett went 2/3 at the plate. Game two brought a better result in an 8-7 victory over Murray. The game was tied at seven with Melcher-Dallas batting in the top of the fifth when Anndee Clark grounded out, scoring one run to give the Saints the lead. Haley Godfrey led Melcher-Dallas by driving in five runs. Kacey Enfield allowed 11 hits and seven runs over six innings, striking out three and walking one.
