The bats were certainly not left at home for the Pleasantville softball team on Saturday, as they combined for an eye-popping 32 runs in a pair of games at Woodward-Granger for a tournament.

In game one the Trojans made quick work of the host Hawks scoring 13 runs in the first two frames en route to a 17-7 win in five innings. Bridgette McKinney went off at the plate going 3-for-4 with three RBI and three runs scored. Makenzie McGriff added two hits and three runs. It was almost a carbon copy in game two with the Trojans once again posting 13 runs in the first two innings to lead to a 15-3 win over Madrid. Josie Sowers went 3-for-3 with a pair of runs and RBI. The Trojans improved to 10-8 on the season.

For the baseball team they saw a 10-game win streak come to a close after losing their first game at the Colo-NESCO tournament to Gladbrook-Reinbeck 3-0. Despite taking the loss, Grant Fouch pitched six innings of three hit ball and giving up one earned run. Fouch also led the offense with a pair of hits along with Kyle Amendt. In game two the offense broke out in a big way with a 22-6 clobbering of Colo-NESCO. Colton Major had a game to remember going 3-for-4 with a grand slam and a remarkable nine RBI. Quintin Berglund added a pair of hits and two runs knocked in. The Trojans moved to 11-3 on the season.

Both teams will get back on the diamond today hosting East Union.
