An ordinance allowing microbreweries in the City of Pella will have a public hearing and be considered by the Pella City Council on July 3rd.
City Administrator Mike Nardini tells KNIA/KRLS News residents can speak about the proposed law at the meeting. He says the city has been working with the potential owners of a new microbrewery to draft the law, and this ordinance would allow the establishments in all commercial zones except in the central business district and requires approval of a special use permit from the Board of Adjustment.
The Pella City Council expressed their support for the new ordinance at a policy and planning meeting in May. Prior to the public hearing, the Planning and Zoning Commission will make a formal recommendation to the city council at their meeting this Monday at 7 p.m. in the Public Safety Complex on Liberty Street.
