The Pella FFA Chapter was named the Champion Team in the annual Iowa FFA Horse Career Development Event held at Kirkwood Community College on June 12th.
Members of the first place team included: Camryn Norton, Zacharaiah Thorson, and Shianne Votava. Their agriculture education instructor and FFA advisor is Jacob Bowers. They will represent Iowa at the National Horse Career Development Event at Indianapolis, Indiana, in October.
Not only were they named champion team overall in the state, but they were 1st place in team problem solving, 1st place halter team, 2nd place oral reasons, 5th place performance, Votava was 3rd place overall individual, Norton was 7th place overall individual, and Thorson was 31st place overall individual.
