After a slow start to the North Mahaska tournament, the Pleasantville softball team finished strong to split a pair of games.

In game one the Trojans fell flat against the host Warhawks losing 7-3. The Trojans had five hits in the contest led by Faith Vanderhart with a double and two RBI. Abby DeJoode went three innings in the circle giving up seven hits and three earned runs.

In game two the offense broke out against area school Twin Cedars with a final tally of 11-0 in favor of the Trojans. They scored in each of the first four innings en route to the big win. Amber McKinney paced the offense going 4-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored. Vanderhart added three knocks with one RBI. DeJoode rebounded well pitching seven shutout innings of five hit ball and five strikeouts. Pleasantville moves their record to 14-9 and will travel to Martensdale-St. Marys on Tuesday.

Twin Cedars also fell to North Mahaska in their second game 9-2. The Sabers drop their record to 10-8 and will get back on the diamond Tuesday traveling to face Mormon Trail.
