The Pleasantville summer teams got key Pride of Iowa victories last night against Wayne.

The baseball team rode another stellar pitching performance to a 10-0 win. The Trojans got the party started with three runs in the third and tacked on in each of the next three frames to win in six innings. Quintin Berglund tossed a one hitter on six strikeouts to follow up a no-hitter by Colton Major earlier in the week. Grant Fouch led the offense going 2-for-2 with two RBI and two walks. Pleasantville improves to 16-8 on the season.

The softball team came out on top of a 3-2 pitcher’s duel. The game was tied at 2-2 in the fifth when Amber McKinney knocked in the eventual winning run. The Trojans just had four hits on the day along with Andie Sowers, Makenzie McGriff, and Taylor Foley. Abby DeJoode got the win in the circle giving up six hits on no earned runs and six strikeouts. They have now won eight of nine contests and sit at 16-9 on the year.

Both squads will make the long haul to Bedford tonight.
