The Knoxville Fire Department battled smoke at the Rib Shack in Knoxville earlier today, after receiving a call of smoke coming from one of the ovens at approximately 10:10am.

Employees opening the restaurant for the day opened an oven that had apparently been left on with food still in it in the overnight hours, which led to smoke pouring out and emergency services being called. After determining that there was no danger, the Knoxville Fire Department used a fan to clear out the building, and no damage was reported on the inside of the Rib Shack, which will be open for their normal hours today.

The Knoxville Police Department assisted on the call.
