The Pleasantville softball team hit the road to Ankeny for a tournament on Saturday and split a pair of games.

A strong outing by Abby DeJoode led the Trojans past Sioux City Bishop Heelan in game one 4-1. The junior gave up seven hits in a complete game effort and one unearned run. With the game tied at 1-1 heading into the fifth, Pleasantville strung together five straight hits to push across three more tallies and seize the win. Amber McKinney was a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs scored and Makenzie McGriff added a pair of RBI.

In game two the Trojans got off to a tough start against Ankeny and fell 11-1 in five innings. The Hawks put up a five spot in the first and never looked back adding three in the third and fifth to put the game away. Faith Vanderhart took the loss in the circle giving up seven earned runs on eight hits. McKinney continued her sizzling day at the plate adding two more knocks.

Pleasantville is now 18-10 on the year and host Centerville and Moravia tonight. The baseball team will travel to Principal Park in Des Moines for a non-conference matchup against Iowa City Liberty.
