Central College Athletic Director Eric Van Kley knows that recent results on the fields and courts around campus might not be meeting the expectations of longtime Dutch fans.

Central finished in the 4th place out of 9 teams for the Iowa Conference all-sports trophy for the 2017-2018 school year, and had just one league champion – men’s outdoor track and field.

Joining us on last night’s Central College Radio Coaches Corner, Van Kley encouraged fans to keep expecting more out of their favorite team.

“I love those expectations.  It’s just a different a different conference and a different Central than   it was 30 years ago when we were way ahead of the curve relative to facilities and recruiting and some of those kind of things.  To the old fans who remember those days, don’t change your expectations for us at all, that’s exactly what we’re striving for. Also recognize that we have some really hard work to get back in some of those programs and we’re committed to doing that.”
