Winterset Edges Pleasantville in Pitcher’s Duel

After downpours earlier in the day forced what was supposed to be a Pleasantville baseball home game, the Trojans had to travel to Winterset and lost a low scoring affair 3-2.

The Trojans trailed 2-0 heading the sixth inning when the offense went to work. Grant Fouch and Kyle Amendt started the innng with a pair of singles and came around to score off of a single by Owen Worthington and sac fly by Colton Major. Winterset walked it off in the seventh with a single by Easton Darling. Worthington and Triston Mount led the Trojans each going 2-for-3.

Pleasantville falls to 13-5 and will host Southwest Valley tonight. The softball team saw their game against Colfax-Mingo get rained out on Thursday but will get back on the diamond tonight also welcoming the Timberwolves to town.
