In a game that never failed to provide plenty moments of drama, the PCM baseball team won’t soon forget their come from behind win over Pleasantville on Tuesday night in a class 2A district semifinal.
Trailing 7-4 heading into the final inning, the Mustangs rallied off four runs to take an 8-7 lead. The suspense continued to grow, as the Trojans forced the bases loaded in the bottom half of the inning with two outs. What could have been a possible walk off base hit for Pleasantville turned into a web gem diving catch by shortstop Brayton Van Dyke to end the game. Centerfielder Preston Van Wyk tells KNIA/KRLS Sports off the bat he thought it was a base knock but Brayton came out of nowhere for the snag to save the season.
After the drama filled win the Mustangs advance to the district finals on Saturday against East Marshall in Pleasantville.
