The Knoxville Baseball Squad won last night’s game with Newton 8-1. But the Panthers’ were unable to score any runs until the seventh inning. Newton scored first in the fourth inning and it stayed that way until the top of the seventh when Knoxville posted eight runs. Coach Matt Miller told KNIA/KRLS Sports his team hit the ball hard but could not find any gaps and left seven runners on through six innings. Rylan Cox had two hits including a double and three RBI to help Knoxville offensively, Jacob Zuck and Patrick Crawford also had two hits for the Panthers. Mike Hudson picked up the win in relief going 3 1/3 innings allowing one run on three hits. Ben Wallace started and went 3 2/3 innings giving up no runs on one hit and two strikeouts. Knoxville is now 28-11 on the season and will host Bondurant-Farrar for the final regular season game of the year.
