The Melcher-Dallas Baseball Squad put up a valiant effort last night…but fell to Central Decatur in the first round of the class 1A District 5-4. The Cardinals led after five innings 3-1, but the Saints put up three runs in seventh inning to tie game at four heading to the bottom of the seventh when Central Decatur got two walks and a base hit to walk it off. Melcher-Dallas Coach Pat Ferguson told KNIA/KRLS Sports, his team played well, but issued 13 walks and he added that is what lost the game. Melcher-Dallas finishes the season 10-15.
