Our number eight sports moment for Melcher-Dallas and Twin Cedars is the resurgence of the Saints Girls Basketball Squad in 2017/2018. Two straight years of one win seasons and going two-and-38 was frustrating for Coach John Suntken and his players. This past season the Saints gained seven wins and were competitive in several other games that they lost. The signature moment of the season came on January 13th when the Saints beat Moravia 60-to-52. On the surface…just a normal Bluegrass Conference win…but Suntken pointed to that game as the big win of the year. He adds sweeping rival Twin Cedars was also big.
