The PCM baseball team utilized some late inning magic to rally past Pleasantville on Tuesday night 8-7 in a class 2A district semifinal.

PCM took control early plating four runs in the second on a pair of two run home runs off the bat of Caleb Duinink and Dane Owens. Pleasantville went to work however, scoring seven unanswered in the next three frames to take a 7-4 lead. That score held until the final inning when the Mustangs answered with four runs of their own to regain the advantage. The Trojans threatened in the bottom half with the bases loaded but a line shot to a diving Brayton Van Dyke ended the game. Wes Cummings finished with two hits and one RBI. Noah Henkenius got the win throwing six innings of seven hit ball and seven runs. Head Coach Jeff Lindsay tells KNIA/KRLS Sports the late comeback is a direct reflection of the character of his guys being able to persevere through adversity. Cael Lester led Pleasantville at the plate going 2-for-3 with three runs knocked in. Kyle Amendt went 5 1/3 innings on the mound giving up four runs on five hits.

Pleasantville closed their season at 23-12. PCM improves to 12-13 and advanced to the district final to face East Marshall in Pleasantville on Saturday.
