The Iowa Girls Coaches Association has announced their selections for All-State softball players.
Pella’s Kinzi Van Wyk was a 3rd team selection in Class 4A. Van Wyk slugged 13 doubles and five home runs, including three long balls in the postseason, and had a 10-9 record pitching for Pella. Knoxville’s Emery Neer was also a third team honoree, hitting .526 and swiping 23 bases for the Panthers.
Andie Sowers of Pleasantville was a 2nd team selection in Class 2A. She hit .459 in 109 at bats and scored 33 runs for the Trojans. Josie Sowers was an honorable mention, as she led Pleasantville with 27 stolen bases and 44 runs tallied. Pitcher Aby DeJoode was also an honorable mention, with a 14-7 record.
Sophie Howerzyl of Pella Christian finished as a 3rd team selection in 2A, as she hit .427 and just committed three errors as the starting catcher.
Eighth grader Grace Bailey received an honorable mention for Twin Cedars, and freshman Riley Enfield was also an honorable mention for Melcher-Dallas.
