The 2018 softball playoff season is here, as both PCM and Pleasantville softball teams will look to extend their season tonight in their first round game.
PCM (2-14) will travel to Osceola to face off with Clarke (15-11) for a Class 3A-Region 4 matchup. Both teams will look to reverse the trend they finished the regular season with, as the Mustangs lost their final 12 games and Clarke faltered in five of six contests. The game will get started at 7 p.m. in Osceola.
Pleasantville (20-10) will welcome Pekin (14-15) to town in a class 2A-region 4 game. The Trojans were red-hot the second half of the year winners of 12 of their final 14 games. Pleasaantville clinched the Pride of Iowa Conference Friday after a win over Nodaway Valley. That contest is set for 7 p.m. in Pleasantville.
