Pella has been selected to take part in the Future Ready Iowa Regional Summits this fall.
Registration is open for the program that features collaboration with local partners on workforce solutions and brings together key partners in education, business, economic development and community to create local strategies that ensure all Iowans are future ready. The event will take place on Monday, Oct. 1, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Central College. Lt. Governor Adam Gregg says the biggest challenge moving forward for the state is reinvigorating the rural economy, and Future Ready Iowa will help fill a wide range of available jobs.
The summits will provide a platform for strategies outlined in the Future Ready Iowa Act, which passed with unanimous, bipartisan support in the Iowa legislature earlier this year. Future Ready Iowa’s goal is for 70 percent of the state’s workforce to have education or training beyond high school by 2025.
