The Pleasantville City Council met in regular session Monday night.
They adopted a golf cart ordinance allowing golf carts on city streets, with a permit, and flagged. Drivers must be 16 years of age or older. Permits cost $10. No ATV’s will be allowed on Pleasantville city streets, with the exception of farm vehicles coming to town for fuel.
They approved three change orders to Woodruff Construction for the Wastewater Treatment Plant for a total of approximately $33,000, and approved the Woodruff pay estimate of approximately $419,000 for construction work at the plant.
The council approved a payout of approximately $64,000 for Shadle Park improvements.
They discussed enforcement of the garbage ordinance for those not in compliance with the requirement that all have garbage service. Council discussed the possibility of shutting the water off to residences who aren’t in compliance. Approximately 150 residents are not in compliance, and no action was taken.
They deleted property from the Pleasantville Urban Renewal Area.
The council discussed the progress of the Jasper Street project. A total of approximately 1.75 million dollars in funding has been obtained, and the city estimates they will bond for 2.6 million dollars, for a total project cost of 4.4 million. They plan to break ground in April of 2019.
