The Pleasantville softball team came up one game short of a state appearance, as they fell to Des Moines Christian 14-8 last night in a class 2A regional final game.
The Lions were all over the Trojans early plating four runs in the first and three more in the second. The big deficit was immediately erased in the third with Pleasantville putting up a seven spot to tie it up at 7-7. Des Moines Christian was not phased however, retaking the lead with three runs in the bottom half and fourth more in the sixth to seize the win.
The Trojans finished the year 22-11 and Pride of Iowa Conference champions. They bid farewell to seniors Andie Sowers and Jessica Remster.
