The Iowa Girls Coaches Association recently recognized Pleasantville’s Jessica Remster as a nominee for the E. Wayne Cooley “You Can” Award.
The senior is one of nine softball players in the state that were nominated by their coach. E. Wayne Cooley was a longtime Executive Secretary of the IGHSAU and represents the qualities of the award that is determination, character, and pursuing victory with honor. The honor is for an athlete that shows elements of good character and influences their team in a positive manner. Head Coach of the Trojans Jan Haugen tells KNIA/KRLS Sports her selflessness was something special.
“We have put her everywhere including on the bench and she never complains. She comes early, stays late to sweep out the dugout, and I’ve never had a player like that. We are really proud of her.”
