With Brandon Sturman taking over as men’s and women’s track and field coach late last month, there’s only one hole in the coaching fraternity at Central College – men’s golf.
Athletic Director Eric Van Kley says that a national search began shortly after Chad Olsen resigned this spring following two seasons at the helm, and he’s very excited about what they’re finding.
“There’s a very, very strong pool of candidates, and I think that’s due in large part to the history and tradition of the men’s golf program.  It’s been literally one of the best in the country for the better part of three to four decades. We’re very committed to making a great hire there and finding someone to build on the success we’ve had in the past.”
Van Kley is hopeful that a hire will be announced later this month.
