The Pleasantville baseball team added another Pride of Iowa Conference championship banner to their collection and a big reason for success was the play of a deep senior class.
Out of 10 hitters with the most at-bats on the team, six of those were seniors led by Gauge Van Haalen with a .317 batting average and 25 runs knocked in. Owen Worthington was not far behind with a .311 BA and 18 RBI. Colton Major and Kyle Amendt provided depth on the bump, both having a sub-2.5 ERA in 85 combined innings including each having a no-hitter during the year. Head Coach Sheldon Card tells KNIA/KRLS Sports this is the most seniors he has had in 18 years with the program. Card credited their involvement in multiple activities, noting seven of the seniors were four-sport athletes.
Other players that capped off their career in a Trojan uniform include Caleb Adreon, Devon Dursky, Brant Wilkins, and Jacob Wicks.
The Trojans finished the year 23-12.
