The PCM baseball team finished the 2018 campaign winners of eight of their final 13 contests and a big reason for the success was their work on the base paths.
The Mustangs showed off their speed finishing third in the Heart of Iowa Conference in steals with 77 on the season. They ran wild back on June 16th in a win against Grundy Center, collecting a season high 16 stolen bases on the day. State track medalist Preston Van Wyk paced the team with 22 stolen bases out of a possible 25 attempts and Reed Worth was successful on all 14 tries.
The Mustangs finished the year 12-14 and had a district title game appearance.
