Union Street Players presents Kiss Me, Kate this summer.
The story involves the production of a musical version of William Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew and the conflict on and off-stage. In 1949 Kiss Me, Kate won the first Tony Award presented for Best Musical and had over 1,077 performances on Broadway. It went on to be a successful film, has had seven Broadway and London revivals and will be revised again on Broadway in 2019.
Performances by the Union Street Players will be at the Joan Farver-Kuyper Auditorium Pella Community Center at 7 pm on the evenings of July 27, 28, 31 and August 3, 4, with Sunday 2 pm matinees July 29 and August 5. A sign language interpreter performance is scheduled for Tuesday, July 31.
