The Pleasantville baseball team was all over PCM on Monday night in Prairie City coming away with a 12-1 victory in five innings.
Both teams scratched across a run in the first on RBI singles by Pleasantville’s Quintin Berglund and PCM’s Noah Henkenius. It was all Trojans after that tacking on two more in the second and seven in the third on the strength of six hits. Pushing across two more runs in the fifth put the game away to seize the mercy rule win. Berglund and Gauge Van Haalen led the Trojan offense each with a pair of hits and two runs knocked in. Grant Fouch was the winning pitcher going all five innings giving up six hits and one run. Reed Worth had a double and one run scored for the Mustangs.
The Trojans improve to 21-9 and will host Southeast Warren tonight. PCM falls to 9-13 and travel to Nevada this evening.
