The number seven moment from the Twin Cedars and Melcher-Dallas school year was the Sabers improvement on the softball diamond. Twin Cedars had struggled the previous two seasons going a combined 6-41. This season the Sabers more than doubled their win total in one season going 13-13. Coach Zack Dunkin told KNIA/KRLS Sports, it was more fun coaching and winning this season. Dunkin adds the infusion of freshmen and eighth graders who play a lot of softball through the year also contributed to the improved record.
