The Webb-Shadle Memorial Library in Pleasantville is hosting an instrument petting zoo Monday.
A violin and cello will be available from the Des Moines Symphony Academy, where kids will have the opportunity to listen to the difference between different stringed instruments and learn the different parts of the instrument. JoEllen Glick with the Webb-Shadle Memorial Library tells KNIA/KRLS News this type of activity exposes kids to music in a fun way and gets them interested in music and reading at a young age which can help them later on in life, and of course it will be a great time. The instrument petting zoo begins at 10:30am, and is geared towards children at 3-6.
