There is new leadership at Christian Opportunity Center.
After 31 years, Rod Braun retired as executive director this summer at the organization providing a wide range of services to persons with disabilities in south central Iowa. COC had a succession plan in place since 2005 when the Board of Directors named John Eilers as the successor to Braun. Jodi Tukker is the new Associate Director, replacing Eilers, with her nineteen years with the organization. Both tell KNIA/KRLS News they look forward to strengthening the work of Christian Opportunity Center over the past three decades, with the aim of providing needed resources to a vulnerable population. COC’s mission is to integrate Christian values in teaching skills for life.
Founded in 1969, COC provides residential and vocational support and services to nearly 300 people with disabilities in Dallas, Mahaska, Marion, Polk and Warren counties.
